The U.S. news media tells us every day that Russia is our enemy, that China 
is our enemy.  Other nations "can't be trusted," and that the world is 
full of nations and individuals who are all "out for themselves," and 
"out to get us."   But the truth is that the United States was founded 
on a different way of thinking, a way of thinking now alien to most 
American citizens.  Alexander Hamilton and the "American Nationalists" 
grouped around the first Presidency of George Washington adopted a 
future-oriented approach to banking, science, trade and other economic 
policies intended to improve the General Welfare for the entire nation 
as well as for future generations, and in the process, they battled both 
the British imperialists and the Wall Street speculators.  It was 
clearly understood by the leaders of that era that these American System 
methods were meant to benefit not just the United States, but to serve 
as a model for peaceful cooperation with nations all over the world.

Today, it is the grouping of the BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, 
China, South Africa) who have adopted the economic and strategic outlook 
of America's founding fathers, and it is our nation -- the United States 
of America -- which has lost its way under the now more than 12 year 
long Bush and Obama Presidencies. Speaking at the summit of BRICS 
nations, held in Brazil, on July 15, 2014, Indian Prime Minister 
Narendra Modi said, "Restoring a climate of peace and stability is an 
urgent global need. This calls for newer avenues of cooperation and 
collaboration. I believe BRICS can answer this call. This I do because 
of the uniqueness of BRICS as an international institution. For the 
first time it brings together a group of nations on the
parameter of ‘future potential’; rather than existing prosperity or 
shared identities. The very idea of BRICS is thus forward-looking.”

Peace and economic development.  Friendship among nations.  The BRICS 
are offering this now.  The America of Hamilton, Franklin and Washington 
would recognize in the current BRICS policies their own outlook, and 
they would not hesitate to join in this process.  But today, America 
stands aloof, with our leaders protecting the speculative financial 
looting of the Wall Street institutions and threatening war against 
Russia, China and other nations. This situation will not change unless 
growing numbers of American citizens begin to challenge the way they, 
themselves, think, and to throw off the blinders of the last 12 
years.  If we fail to do this, then we will miss this opportunity, and 
the nation and the world will spiral further into economic breakdown and 
war.
