The coronavirus pandemic sweeping the planet confronts us with a multi-decade failure and a unique opportunity. For decades, countries in the so-called "West" have reduced investment in their physical economies and infrastructure (including health infrastructure), as they increasingly became subservient to finance -- the new form of empire. Collaboration among the US, Russia, China, and India can chart a path towards resolving the enormous public health needs of the world (a global pandemic cannot be defeated in countries individually).
