" I just wrote out the following five points. I would like to see them discussed:
1. The Syria cease fire agreement represents a golden opportunity for international cooperation.
2. The cease-fire will not hold unless it is quickly followed by international agreements on the physical economic development of the whole area. Only this can bring lasting peace. The Chinese New Silk Road policy is a golden opportunity for such development.
3. If the United States joins Russia and China in this New Silk road project or Marshall Plan for the Middle East, it can spell the end of the British imperial system which has been dominating U.S. foreign and domestic policy more and more since the death of FDR, replacing it with an international New Deal.
4. The Syrian cease fire agreement shows that war avoidance forces are currently in ascendency in the Obama administration. We must do everything possible to support those forces and oppose the war party forces. That means we should support President Obama as long as the Obama administration continues on the path of peace and cooperation, just as Putin is doing. It is not a matter of personally supporting Obama but of supporting the peace process and keeping Obama on board with it. Calls to Congress are in order praising the cease fire and bringing in the idea of joining the Russians and the Chinese in an economic development program.
5. As long as the cease fire holds, Obama should not be targeted. We should treat him as a lame duck. Instead we should look forward to November and to getting these New Deal programs adopted by the next administration. The only candidate running whose supporters are progressive and susceptible to the idea of an international New Deal is Bernie Sanders. Nobody else in either party is even thinkable as a vehicle for our ideas. Therefore we must go all out to support his candidacy and to introduce our advanced ideas to his supporters. They must hear about the New Silk Road becoming the World Land Bridge. The Sanders campaign already supports Glass-Steagall. Now it must adopt our plan for the economic development of the United States as outlined in our pamphlet “The United States Joins the New Silk Road”. Sanders supporters are our natural audience. His campaign must become a vehicle to spread our ideas." Lyn, can you comment on this?
He asks, Mr. LaRouche, I was able to watch most of the excellent speech this morning made by the Foreign Minister of China, Wang Yi, in the US at the Georgetown Center for Strategic Studies in Washington DC.
He called for and welcomed US particpation in the One Road, One Belt policy and called this WIN WIN COOPERATION for the United States AND China both.
He definitely sounded the same call for cooperation that I have heard from you and your wife, Helga Zepp. LaRouche. He even talked about avoiding the Thrucydides Trap, that there was no reason the US and China should not be fully cooperating for the benefit of both.
My question is how does China see the wish for that relationship to actually occur as long as Obama is still in office?? Will they committ fully to that cooperation as long as the current situation of threats against China with Obama still being in office remain??
